Athletic Bilbao have gotten ‘very serious’ with their own fans ahead of the clash with Manchester United, warning they could be fined up to €30,000 for re-selling tickets.

Estadio Deportivo cover the situation today and how the Spanish side have informed their members that they will pursue ‘ticket scalping cases’ for the semi-final at San Mamés against Manchester United.

These fines will range from €1,200 to €30,000 depending on the severity of the offense. The Spanish side are determined to make it clear that they are not ‘messing around’ with the matter.

They want to ensure that every detail for the semi-final goes smoothly, particularly with the Europa League final scheduled to take place at the same stadium.

They don’t want any negative press and are ‘getting very serious’ about ticket touts re-selling tickets, warning it could carry a fine of up to €30,000.

The Spanish side have made it clear, via a statement, that they will pursue any ‘culprits’ of ticket touting and turn them over to the police. They have already identified ‘scalpers’ for the Copa del Rey final and all were handed a ‘commensurate sanction’. They want it made clear that they are not ‘shying away from imposing sanctions’.

The re-sale of tickets is strictly prohibited for the clash against Manchester United and they want fans to be clear they face big fines if they are caught doing so.
