Last week, we covered a story in France Football claiming that Aston Villa hadn’t given up on Le Havre’s Harold Moukoudi.
The towering centre-back had been a target for Steve Bruce over the summer, and it seems, regardless of the manager having changed since then, they are still interested in the 21-year-old.
Well, if you didn’t believe France Football last week, there is some different proof the Villains still want Moukoudi, as they travelled to watch him on Wednesday evening.
Girondins4Ever have a list of club scouts who were present at Bordeaux’s Coupe de La Ligue clash against Le Havre, and Aston Villa were one of two English teams in the stands, with the other being Manchester City.
Unfortunately for Villa, the defender didn’t feature in the game, but there’s no way the scout or the club will have known that prior to the team sheets being handed out, presenting something of a twist to the evening.
Who Pep Guardiola’s club were there to see remains a mystery for now, but having missed out on Jean Clair Todibo to Barcelona, perhaps they were also there to keep an eye on a promising French centre-back.
