Aston Villa’s move for Bayer Leverkusen star Moussa Diaby should be finalised ‘in the coming days’ after a €50m+ agreement was reached between the two clubs.
That’s according to Sky Sport Germany, who back up claims from their journalist Florian Plettenburg regarding a transfer being imminent.
Earlier today we covered an update from Plettenburg on the matter, with him reporting that Aston Villa had reached an agreement in principle on a €50m + bonuses deal for the Frenchman.
They back up the claims of an agreement in principle and that Villa appear to have moved ahead of Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr, who have also ‘campaigned intensively’ for him.
The belief is that the transfer should be finalised in the coming days and to back that up, it is ‘unlikely’ Diaby will travel with Bayer Leverkusen for their pre-season training camp in Austria on Sunday.
The growing sentiment in Germany is that he will be on his way to Aston Villa soon, with the outline of a deal in place for him to become Unai Emery’s latest major signing.
