Aston Villa are set to send a representative to watch over Galatasaray’s Barış Alper Yılmaz in tonight’s clash with Adana Demirspor.
That’s according to Sporx, who say Aston Villa and Lazio have the youngster on their list of options for the summer.
They explain that Yilmaz, who has more appearances than anyone for Galatasaray this season, has been gaining plenty of attention thanks to his performances.
The 23-year-old has been enjoying a steady rise and more than earned his place in the team, as well as the interest of various clubs in Europe.
The growing belief is that he can secure a big transfer before EURO 2024, with reports in England and Italy putting Aston Villa and Lazio at the front of the queue for him.
For now, it seems neither side have made an approach, although Aston Villa do have a good prior relationship in place with the Turkish club thanks to the deal for Nicolo Zaniolo last summer.
Instead, they’re watching and monitoring him and Sporx say representatives from both clubs are preparing to follow him from the stands and submit a report from Galatasaray’s clash with Adana Demirspor.
That’s a game to watch out for then, as it could potentially be the one which convinces Aston Villa to make their move.
