Aston Villa owned goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini has told the Italian media he wants to stay with Atalanta for a long time.
The Aston Villa player is currently on an 18 month loan deal with the Serie A side.
Speaking to TMW about his struggles with Aston Villa, Gollini was this week asked about his future with Atalanta: “Yes, of course, this is why I hope to stay here in Bergamo for a long time.”
Gollini signed for Aston Villa in 2016, and started last season as Roberto Di Matteo’s number one. However, after Steve Bruce was brought in Gollini eventually lost his place in the Aston Villa starting eleven, and was subsequently loaned to Atalanta 12 months ago.
However, the former Aston Villa loanee has had to be content with being back up to Albanian international Etrit Berisha since his arrival at Atalanta.
Gollini has played just six Serie A games for the Italian side in the past year, but it seems he’s still happy about his departure from Aston Villa.
