Arsene Wenger has long been known for getting Arsenal’s scouts to find the best young talents, and whilst the club’s recruitment once had a very French theme, the German aspect has increased in recent years.
Current Germans in the Arsenal squad are Per Mertesacker, Mesut Ozil, and Shkodran Mustafi, with Serge Gnabry leaving in the summer.
Perhaps Wenger wants to top it up, because Arsenal have been linked with a move for two more German players, but this one has an interesting twist. Gian-Luca (pictured above) and Davide-Jerome are 17 year old twins, the Itter twins.
German magazine Kicker say Arsenal are very keen and trying to tempt the youngsters to move, with RB Leipzig interested too. Gian-Luca (and yes, it is spelt like that) is a left-back and Davide-Jerome a right-back, Arsenal could try and replicate Rafael and Fabio Da Silva who were so popular with Manchester United fans.
Wolfsburg want to fight off Arsenal and Leipzig and extend the contracts of the players, which run until 2018. The Itter twins turn 18 years of age in January.
