The vultures are circling, and today those vultures are Catalan.
There are few things the Catalan press would love more than Barcelona picking over the carcass of a deceased Arsenal, forced to sell their best players due to circumstance.
That, plainly, isn’t the situation right now, but Sport would dearly love it to be, and have twisted reality a little to make their dream sound more like reality.
In their Monday edition Catalan newspaper Sport say Arsenal’s failure to qualify for the Champions league, means Barcelona signing Hector Bellerin becomes ‘more feasible’.
Barcelona now have a ‘new strategy’, with Arsenal facing economic and sporting 
setback… ‘which in principle should facilitate the exit of some players.’
Not only will Arsenal’s Champions League failure ‘facilitate’ the transfer of Bellerin, but it will also make Arsenal bring the player’s price down, report Sport.
Of course, all of this nonsense, and the Barcelona vultures would arrive to feast on the Arsenal carcass, only to find it’s still very much alive.
