Barcelona and Real Betis signed Emerson Royal in a complicated joint operation in 2019.

On Wednesday, the Catalan club confirmed the player will move to the Camp Nou, after spending the previous two seasons with Los Verdiblancos.

The right-back’s form for Real Betis has seen him emerge as a target for Arsenal and a few other clubs across Europe, and on May 31st, we relayed news from Spain the Gunners are in picture to sign the 22-year-old and his agent is scheduled to meet the Catalan club.

Mundo Deportivo now claim the defender’s representative ‘has been summoned’ to define whether he will stay at Barca or if the club will consider transferring him this summer.

The Brazilian’s impressive performances for Real Betis has seen several European clubs set their sights on him.

This includes Mikel Arteta’s side and Arsenal, along with Milan and Inter, have ‘already expressed their interest’ in signing the fullback.
