According to Turkish news agency DHA, as relayed by Futbol Arena, Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil has had offers from five different countries, which are named as Turkey, Japan, United States, Qatar and Italy.
The 31 year old hasn’t featured for Mikel Arteta’s team in recent matches, and his future is currently up in the air.
DHA claim Ozil favours a return to Turkey, especially with Fenerbahce, a club he’s been supporting since his childhood.
According to them, if Fenerbahce manage to build a strong team, then Ozil will ‘strongly consider’ a move to Turkey, and he’s keen to join the Yellow Canaries.
He’s has been linked with a move to the Turkish club in the past, but Fener’s president Ali Koc last month said that Ozil needs to take a massive wage cut to join them, as they don’t have the resources to complete a deal for the former Germany international.
Ozil has made 23 appearances for the Gunners in all competitions this season, scoring one goal. His contract at the Emirates will expire at the end of June 2021.
