Arsenal sent a scout to Brazil to watch a Copa Libertadores match on Thursday night, according to claims from the country.
Outlet Zero Hora says the Gunners had an official at the game between Grêmio and Internacional, which ended in a 0-0 draw.
The reason the Premier League side were interested in this match was Inter defender Bruno Fuchs, who’s been drawing their attention.
It’s claimed Arsenal have been interested in him since the Pre-Olympic tournament in Brazil and have been watching him in other Copa Libertadores matches.
Fuchs had a decent performance in the draw, and just by managing to stay on the pitch until the end of the game, he’s done enough.
We say that because this was the first Porto Alegre derby in the history of Copa Libertadores, and unsurprisingly, it ended with a fight in the 90th minute, with the referee showing eight red cards.
There’s still no further information on Arsenal’s chase for the defender, but we’ll surely be keeping an eye on that.
