Following his efforts to feature in the game against Liverpool this week, Atletico Madrid star Alvaro Morata has injured himself again, the Spanish press says.

Outlet AS reports that the striker wasn’t completely fit when travelling to Anfield for the Champions League clash, and it was even a surprise to see him on the bench.

Morata was brought on in the 102nd minute, and according to AS, he felt a muscle injury in his first sprint in the game.

Since Diego Simeone didn’t have any extra substitutions, the Spaniard stayed on the pitch, and even managed to score a late goal to confirm Atletico Madrid’s win.

It’s said that a couple of days later, Morata could ‘only walk’, and after some exams, it’s been found out he has a muscle injury which will leave him out for five or six weeks.

Considering the magical night Atletico had in Liverpool and the postponement of all matches due to Coronavirus, it was probably all worth it for the striker.
