With the whole Henrikh Mkhitaryan saga now over, the stories surrounding Arsenal’s interest in Justin Kluivert disappeared somewhat.
The Gunners were reportedly interested in some kind of swap deal for the Dutchman involving their own Armenian, but it never materialised.
With the Premier League season now over and just one more game left in their calendar, Arsenal can now start focusing on next season a bit more seriously behind the scenes.
That’s why Corriere dello Sport on Friday state Mikel Arteta’s side haven’t gone away entirely when it comes to Kluivert, reporting that ‘over the past few days, intermediaries have brought back the interest’ the London side have for the winger.
However, they are in ‘no hurry’ to strike a deal just yet, wanting to ‘test the market in search of other solutions before throwing themselves entirely on the Dutchman’.
There’s no mention of price (previous reports suggested €30m) or how long Arsenal will take to evaluate their options, but considering there doesn’t appear to be much competition for Kluivert at this moment in time and Roma need to sell, we’d say Edu and co. are currently in a position of some power here.
