Despite having both Kieran Tierney and Oleksandr Zinchenko as their left-back options at the Emirates, on top of Nuno Tavares being on loan at Marseille, Arsenal could be in the market for a new man at the position.

That’s what Calciomercato.it are reporting on Monday, putting forward the idea that the Gunners would be interested in Theo Hernández.

The Frenchman, who represented his country at the World Cup after his brother picked up a serious injury, has been in fine form for AC Milan for the past few years, and he has become one of the more coveted players in his position.

It’s highlighted that Arsenal already have a few players in the role, but they also add that signing someone like Theo Hernández would allow ‘a further leap in quality’.

That’s why there is the ‘possibility that a concrete proposal’ from the Gunners to Milan will be made, and the London side ‘could go beyond just cash’.

This means an offer of money ‘with Zinchenko or Tierney’ to help reach the ‘overall evaluation of the Frenchman’, which they believe stands at ‘around €70-80m’.

However, it’s pointed out that ‘it’s unlikely’ the Serie A side would be ‘tempted by such a proposal’ from Arsenal, as they want to keep their squad as strong as possible following last year’s title win, even if this season hasn’t quite gone to plan (4-0 win against Napoli at the weekend aside).
