Back in the summer, Arsenal were one of the many Premier League clubs who linked to Shakhtar Donetsk winger Mykhaylo Mudryk, with reports saying the Gunners were actually in negotiations to sign him.
The 21-year-old ended up staying in Ukraine, and with a great start to the season with five goals and seven assists in 10 games, the stories about his move to a new league continue to come out.
This time, it’s outlet Fichajes who state that among the ‘many candidates’ recently showing up for Mudryk, Arsenal and AS Roma are those who ‘stand out’ in this race.
Especially regarding the Italian side, it’s claimed that they were willing to offer about €30m for the transfer, and that was apparently turned down by Shakhtar Donetsk, who demand at least €50m to let the player go.
Taking Mudryk from Ukraine won’t be an easy job, as the likes of Chelsea were also said to be making efforts in the summer and had no success. Now with many clubs set to be back in the upcoming windows, Arsenal better be prepared for that battle.
