Celtic reportedly paid £5m to sign Albian Ajeti from West Ham United in 2020, a year after he joined the Hammers.

After struggling in the Premier League, the striker managed six goals and four assists in his debut season in Scotland. Last term, the 25-year-old failed to impress for Celtic, scoring three goals and registering one assist in all competitions.

The Switzerland international was not included in Ange Postecoglou’s plans at Celtic Park this term and this saw the Hoops allow him to join Sturm Graz on a loan deal in the last window.

After netting against Wolfsberger in the league last weekend, the Celtic owned player scored the winner for Sturm Graz against local rivals, Grazer AK, in the ÖFB-Cup tie two days ago.

While detailing the impact of the goal scored against Grazer, Blick state the frontman has now gone from a ‘millionaire flop’ at Celtic to a derby hero for the Sturm Graz supporters.

Ajeti struggled with form and fitness last season for Postecoglou’s side and therefore the loan move to Sturm Graz was the logical step for the Celtic outcast.
