Sport aren’t giving up on their claims Yannick Carrasco could soon be an Arsenal player.

During the winter transfer window, the former Atletico Madrid player was repeatedly linked with a move to the Gunners, with Manchester United also getting their fair share of stories.

Moving to Dalian Yifang in February 2018, it was thought the Belgian was already wanting a return to European football. Recently he’s made that desire public and urged his Chinese club to not make a transfer too difficult this summer.

Sport say there’s an Arsenal offer ‘on the table’ and Carrasco is ‘one step away’ from joining the Premier League club, however, they have no further information on the structure of a deal or potential finances.

There’s every chance Arsenal would be looking for a loan with option to buy, or a permanent transfer with the fee largely dependent on bonuses. Chinese clubs have already shown that they’re not prepared to let stars move back to European football for peanuts just because they’re homesick.
