Thomas Partey has struggled with form and fitness since he swapped Atlético Madrid for Arsenal in the summer of 2020.
The midfielder suffered multiple injuries in the last 12 months and it has restricted him to only 23 league starts since he arrived at the Emirates.
In order to resolve the problems encountered due to the Ghana international’s fitness in the winter market, the Gunners ‘have looked at’ William Carvalho as a potential solution, according to Fichajes.net.
The former Sporting man was initially not counted on by Real Betis for this season, but was included in Manuel Pellegrini’s plans after failing to get a move away from the La Liga side in the summer.
Carvalho has grabbed the opportunities given to him and is now a ‘key player’ under the Chilean, which appears to have caught the attention of the north London club.
It’s claimed the ‘Premier League calls’ the Portugal international, but him regaining his form at Real Betis makes it a ‘great obstacle’ for Arsenal to sign him in January.
Pellegrini and Betis view Carvalho as having an important role to play in the second half of the season, meaning that although Mikel Arteta’s side appear to be in the picture to take the player in January, Fichajes.net say it is ‘difficult to think about the exit’ of Carvalho in the next window.
