Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny is ‘expected’ to sign for Galatasaray in the January transfer window, with a deal already seemingly agreed.
That’s according to Fanatik, who suggest the Turkish side have already signed the Egyptian as they look to bolster their squad.
The newspaper explains that Gala are keen to build in January and, after extending several players, want to add at least three to their squad.
Talks are already underway with Gedson Fernandes, who the club have made ‘serious strides’ to sign, and he will be joined by Eleny, who has ‘also signed’ from Arsenal.
That is the extent of what Fanatik offer on the move, failing to provide details regarding a possible transfer fee for Elneny or even what kind of contract he will be signing at the club.
That means we’ll have to take things with a pinch of salt at this moment in time, particularly given Arsenal aren’t mentioned once in the article.
Elneny has been heavily linked with a return to Turkey for the last few weeks, though, with a report at the end of October stating that there was an agreement in principle for the transfer to happen.
Since then, we’ve had Elneny’s agent talking up the move to Galatasaray and then two days ago, the deal was at the ‘signing stage’.
That final hurdle now seems to have been leapt over, at least as far as Fanatik are concerned, with Elneny seemingly on his way out of Arsenal and set to return to Turkey.
