Mohamed Elneny is edging closer to leaving Arsenal, at least according to repeat reports from the Turkish media.

The midfielder has a contract expiring at the end of the season, so is perfect for the type of deal many Super Lig clubs look for. That he was on loan at Besiktas last season, and therefore has experience of playing in Turkish football, adds to the reasons clubs are keen.

Galatasaray are leading the chase, and the player’s agent recently made comments talking up a move to the club. Those comments are presented almost every day by the Turkish media, and they continue to insist a move is closing in.

Fanatik report the move is now ‘at the signing stage’. Elneny has given the ‘green light’ to joining Galatasaray, and Arsenal have given their ‘approval’ to the deal.

Still, it doesn’t seem completely agreed.

Fanatik say Galatasaray don’t want to pay anything for Elneny, given his contract expires soon.

Whilst Arsenal may agree generally to the exit, the details may take some working on, not least what happens with the player’s wages for the rest of the season.
