Despite being mentioned as one of the contenders for the signing of Napoli striker Victor Osimhen this summer, Arsenal now seem out of the race for him.

According to Il Mattino (via Napoli Magazine), the Serie A side continue to demand €100m to let the player go, and clubs still struggle to match those demands.

It’s said Arsenal ‘ran aground’ with a €60m offer, and then ‘disappeared from the radar’.

Napoli seem to be very convinced about the price and are not willing to negotiate a discount.

It’s said that ‘either the price is the right one or nobody goes away’.

Osimhen continues to be one of the most wanted strikers in the transfer window, at least according to what the Italian media says every single day, but the price demanded by Napoli makes it look hard that any club will be able to take him out of Serie A this summer.

With Arsenal’s offer being so far from the asking price, it’s understandable that the Gunners wouldn’t insist on their pursuit.
