Any excuse is used to link English clubs to William Carvalho, and, especially over the past week, Arsenal in-particular.
Claims in Portugal this week that Carvalho is heading for the Premier League, to an unknown destination, have only further encouraged things.
On Friday, Correio da Manhã has a short paragraph saying Arsenal still think of the player, and could be back for him in case they fail to land one of their summer window targets.
This man would be Jean Michael Seri, from OGC Nice, who’s been linked to Arsenal repeatedly this summer, with French newspaper L’Equipe launching the story again on Thursday.
Correio da Manhã say Carvalho would be Arsenal’s back-up option, and would cost €5m less.
Despite recent claims saying Arsene Wenger has decided it’s time to move for Carvalho, other reports have been saying Sporting are still to get an official offer, despite their certainty that he’ll be sold this summer.
Please, somebody sign William Carvalho!
