Italian newspapers moved on from Paul Pogba well over a week ago, and the concentration turned to who will take over from the Frenchman at Juventus.
On Tuesday, Gazzetta dello Sport say it’s been apparent in Juve’s pre-season matches that an addition will be needed in the middle, and the club have several options.
One of those options is of course Chelsea’s Nemanja Matic, but it’s believed it will be hard to sign the player. Gazzetta say Matic is growing ‘restless’ about the situation and Juventus expect some news from London.
The expected update is because Matic is going to ask for a one to one interview with Antonio Conte. The Serbian would put over his concerns, and transfer opportunities, and then Conte would give his side of the situation.
If Matic isn’t assured on his future, then it’s believed in Italy that a move is more possible. Juventus ‘wait and hope’ for the next update, with Gazzetta saying a deal should cost around €30m, for a player who has always been the club’s first choice.
