Arsenal are expected to bid for Benfica winger Andrija Zivkovic once the summer transfer window opens, Sport Witness has learned.
Sources in Portugal have claimed the Gunners are convinced about making an attempt for the 21-year-old after scouting him many times this season.
Zivkovic’s entourage is excited about the possibility, even though they still don’t know if Arsenal’s bid will be enough to find a deal with Benfica.
The Serbian international is currently protected by a €60m release clause, and has a contract with the Eagles running until 2021.
After failing to win the league title, which would have made it five in a row, Benfica plan to have a clearance in the squad, selling all players they receive good offers for, regardless of their importance at the club.
Zivkovic is left-footed, and as well as being an advanced central midfielder, he can operate as a winger on both sides. He has three goals and six assists in 29 appearances for the Eagles this season.
