Middlesbrough were very active during the summer transfer window, and signed a number of players on their return to the Premier League.
They haven’t really started the season as they’d have hoped to, and Aitor Karanka’s team are 17th in the Premier League table.
However, Middlesbrough managed an impressive draw against Arsenal yesterday at the Emirates.
Maanager Aitor Karanka has been speaking to Spanish radio station Onda Cero, and the Spaniard reckons Petr Cech was Arsenal’s best player on the pitch.
He said: “Their goalkeeper was the best player. That says a lot about us. I am very happy for the players.
“It was spectacular. We have competed in every game and this is the way forward.”
Asked about the signings of Alvaro Negredo and Victor Valdes, Karanka seems to be quite content with their performances so far.
He added: “When I brought them, I knew they didn’t come from a very good moment, but I know them as players and as people and wanted to return them to happiness. They are getting there, but we are in October and we must continue.”
Middlesbrough host Bournemouth next in the Premier League and Karanka would certainly want his team to get some points on board.
