The agency of Tottenham defender Jan Vertonghen have confirmed to the Italian media the Belgian star is happy with his current club. Vertonghen has recently been linked with a move to Inter Milan.
Speaking to TMW, A Group management representative Tom de Mul was asked about the future of the Tottenham star, following claims he could be heading to Serie A.
De Mul confirmed the player is content in England, and happy with his situation. The Belgian agent believes there is a high chance Vertonghen will stay at Tottenham next season, but pointed out anything can change in football.
“In London he’s happy. He’s playing this season as a top player and he’s certainly happy. To stay? 99%,” said De Mul.
With Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino linked with the vacant Inter Milan job there have been claims Vertonghen could follow him to Italy. However, it’s very unlikely either will be heading to the San Siro any time soon, and both look set to stay at Tottenham for next season.
Both Vertonghen and Pochettino are vital for the club over the next few season, an Tottenham’s leaders won’t want them to leave.
