Christian Benteke’s agent Kısmet Eris has spoken to Fanatik about his client’s situation and confirmed he’s yet to receive any calls from Turkish clubs with regards to a possible transfer to the Super Lig this summer.
The Belgian striker will become a free agent at the end of June when his contract with Crystal Palace expires, and there were reports earlier this year linking him with a move to title-winners Besiktas.
Speaking to Fanatik, Eris said some executives at Turkish clubs have been trying to contact Benteke via social media, but he has yet to receive any official requests for his client: “Palace are happy with Benteke. We are still in talks with them. Plus, there are clubs from England and Europe that are showing an interest in him.
“Right now, he’s fully focused on the upcoming Euros. In the winter transfer window, we had an offer from Besiktas but his contract with Palace was ongoing at the time, so the move never materialised.”
There have been recent reports in Turkey that Benteke has rejected a contract extension offer from the Eagles but given his agent’s comments there’s still a chance he will be at Selhurst Park next season.
The former Liverpool striker has made 30 appearances for the south London side this season, scoring ten goals.
