The rumours linking Kalidou Koulibaly to Chelsea were pretty strong last summer, until they ended up fading away when the Blues signed David Luiz back from Paris Saint German.
But the French defender continues to play well for Napoli, and that’s why he continues to be in the rumour mill.
Despite no strong links, Chelsea have been thrown into the mix once again, and that’s why the player’s agent was asked about the London side’s interest today.
Speaking to Radio Crc, representative Bruno Satin tried to make it clear that Koulibaly is not moving to Antonio Conte’s side: “If it’s needed to worry about Chelsea for a possible approach on Kalidou? Absolutely not,” said Satin (via Tutto Napoli).
Signed from Belgian side Gent for €7.75m in 2014, Koulibaly has recently renewed his contract with Napoli, which now runs until 2021.
As this new deal reportedly has no release clause, Napoli hold all the power in any potential transfer.
