On March 9th, France Football reported Arsenal are ‘not letting go’ of the possibility of signing Layvin Kurzawa. The left-back’s contract at Paris Saint-Germain expires in the summer.

‘Deal Kurzawa’ is splashed on the front page of today’s Sport as Barcelona are interested in the 27-yaer-old.

The La Liga winners currently have Jordi Alba and Junior Firpo as the two left-backs in the squad. The latter hasn’t convinced the Blaugrana leaders, which is why they will make him available in the summer, a year after he arrived at the Camp Nou.

If Barca manage to offload him, the Catalan club will look to bring in an affordable player to provide competition to Alba.

Kurzawa is viewed as one of the options. The Frenchman is managed by Kia Joorabchian and the La Liga winners discussed the PSG player during a summit with his agent in February.

Barcelona have asked Joorabchian for ‘time to close the departure’ of Junior so that they can then sign Kurzawa. The left-back’s representative, however, has warned the Spanish champions that there are other clubs keen on signing his client.

It’s claimed Joorabchian is ‘handling interesting offers’ from Arsenal and Napoli and with interest from elsewhere, Kurzawa’s camp doesn’t want to wait for long before deciding the next destination.

Even though Mikel Arteta’s side and Napoli are keen on Kurzawa, the player’s priority is to make a switch to the Camp Nou.

Sport, however, states, ‘the contract has been discussed, but Barça will not make the final offer until the whole Coronavirus crisis is clarified’.

This could give an opportunity to suitors like Arsenal to agree a deal with Kurzuwa to join them on a free transfer in the summer.
