Earlier today, we covered claims made by Italian journalist Ciro Venerato, who explained Napoli have contacted Manchester City star Sergio Aguero and his brother, who is believed to be acting as his agent.
Venerato suggested the Serie A side have offered the forward a four-year deal worth €10m per year (gross), which would come out around €7.5m net, excluding bonuses and image rights.
Area Napoli decided to get in touch Hernán Reguera, the owner of the agency [Eleven Talent Group] that manage the Argentine, and Reguera has wasted no time in dismissing the claims linking his client to the Naples club.
“I am representing Aguero, it is absolutely not true that someone else represents him,” Reguera said.
“This indiscretion according to which Napoli are ready to make an offer or have already made an offer does not correspond to the truth. There was no proposal on their part. There was no mention of Aguero with Napoli.”
The agent further added, “I had no contact with Napoli about any player, not even about my other clients.”
Venerato reported Aguero has problems with his employer and the player’s representative also responded to these claims.
“Sergio will remain at Manchester City and I want to deny those who claim that there are problems between my striker and the English club. They are just rumours,” Reguera stressed.
The South American’s current deal with the Premier League winners lasts until 2021.
