Two days ago, we relayed news from Italy that Chelsea’s Emerson Palmieri is the ‘favourite’ left-back target for Juventus manager Maurizio Sarri.
The 25-year-old played under Sarri at Chelsea last season and was preferred ahead of Marcos Alonso in the second half of that campaign.
The Blues signed the defender from AS Roma in January 2018, when Antonio Conte was in charge at Stamford Bridge. If reports coming out of Italy are to be believed, Conte is now interested in signing the Brazil-born Italy international for Inter Milan.
Juvenews.eu managed to interview the fullback’s agent, Luis Fernando Garcia, and Emerson’s representative confirmed the two Italian clubs are interested in the defender.
“We know very well about Juventus’ interest but also about Inter,” Luis Fernando Garcia said.
Emerson’s contract with Frank Lampard’s side runs until 2022 and his agent stressed a decision on his client’s future will be taken after the end of this season.
“So far there has been no talk of a transfer with Chelsea, nor has there been any official offer. I believe that until May there will be no official offers from the two clubs. In the summer we will decide what to do,” Emerson’s agent explained.
With the agent confirming Juventus and Inter interest in Emerson, it remains to be seen if they can convince Chelsea to sanction the player’s transfer.
