Well, it appears the meeting between Inter and Tullio Tinti, the agent of Alessandro Bastoni, didn’t go the way Manchester United and Tottenham will have wanted it to.
Earlier on Wednesday, we covered the news the representative was at the Serie A club’s headquarters to have a chat with his client’s employers, and two subjects were set to be discussed.
One was the contract situation of Simone Inzaghi, with the other being the future of Bastoni, who has been strongly linked with Manchester United and Tottenham.
Both Premier League sides are working to strengthen their defences this season, with Erik ten Hag set to undergo a mass clear out of the squad at Old Trafford, while Antonio Conte looks for depth ahead of a Champions League campaign.
Relayed by FC Inter News, he said: “If I can reassure Inter fans? Absolutely, Bastoni will definitely remain at Inter.”
We’ll have to wait and see if that remains the case until the end of the transfer window, because there was a time when Romelu Lukaku was meant to definitely stay at Inter too…
