Three days ago, we relayed news from Spain that Tottenham Hotspur’s Bryan Gil is the ‘express request’ of Valencia manager José Bordalás in the winter market.

It was also explained the La Liga side’s owner, Peter Lim, had not given the green light to meet the €1.5m loan fee requested by the north London club.

Gil is yet to start for Spurs in the league since Antonio Conte arrived last November and has hardly been relied upon by his manager.

In search of regular playing time in the second half of the season, the former Sevilla man has set his sights on returning to Spain in January.

On Sunday, journalist Hector Gomez stated the two sides have reached a loan agreement for the youngster. These claims were then backed up Cadena Cope, who also reported the player is set to arrive in Spain in the ‘next few hours’.

Monday’s edition of AS states there is ‘white smoke’, after Los Ches and the English club ‘reached an agreement’, for a fee ‘far from’ €1.5m that was demanded by Spurs.

Valencia agreed to pay a fee and convinced Tottenham to lower their claims so that Gil can arrive at the Mestalla.

Now that the two clubs have agreed a loan deal, they are ‘already exchanging documents’ for the player to join Bordalás’s side.

The deal is until the end of this campaign, but AS add both clubs could continue to negotiate in the summer, to extend the temporary stay until the end of the 2022/23 season.
