Wolverhampton Wanderers are among the clubs to have made an attempt to sign Paris Saint-Germain youngster Djeidi Gassama.

The forward left Stade Brest 29 and joined the Ligue 1 giants In 2019, and since then, he has been part of the latter’s youth team.

The 19-year-old is a right-footed attacker, and prefers to operation on the left wing. He can also operate anywhere in the front three. He starred for PSG in the UEFA Youth League, scoring five goals and registering two assists in six matches.

According to Foot Mercato, there have been some contacts in recent days to take the youngster away from the Paris club.

It’s claimed three clubs ‘tried’ to sign forward, and that includes Wolves, FC Basel and Hamburg.  The trio ‘surveyed with the player’s entourage for a loan with an option to buy’.

Gassama’s current deal expires in 2023 and he has no desire to leave PSG midway through the season. Therefore, the option to join any of Bruno Lage’s side, Basel or HSV has been ‘brushed aside’ by Gassama.

The teenager has 17 goals for the youth team and is currently PSG’s leading scorer in his category.
