Four days ago, AS explained that Liverpool are among ‘important’ cubs ‘interested’ in signing AS Monaco star Aurélien Tchouaméni in the upcoming window.
It was also stated that Real Madrid have advanced talks with the Ligue 1 side after both the midfielder and his agent favoured a move to the Bernabéu.
Paris Saint-Germain are in the picture to take the 22-year-old, but Liverpool are said to be ahead of others in the transfer chase.
Téléfoot journalist Julien Maynard states the Reds and Los Blancos are the two teams in the lead to acquire the France international’s services after this season. The journalist also added ‘advantage Liverpool’.
However, Maynard did not mention why the English club have an ‘advantage’ over Real Madrid to sign the player, whose future has ‘not yet been decided’.
Over at Marca, they discuss the interest shown by Real Madrid and Jürgen Klopp’s side in Tchouaméni.
It’s claimed the news arrives from Monaco, who are a ‘selling club’, and talks about a ‘sale of the footballer’, with a starting price of ‘close to €70m’. The Frenchman wants to move to a league that is much more competitive than Ligue 1.
Tchouaméni is aware of the interest shown by Real Madrid and the Premier League sides. Among them is Liverpool. Marca explain the Anfield club have ‘asked about his future and are looking for a quick decision’.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side, on the other hand, have a clear interest in the player, but have not made an official offer yet.
In fact, they have informed the Frenchman that he will have to wait a year if he wants to arrive in Madrid. However, the Ligue 1 star ‘does not seem willing’ to wait.
Monaco being willing to sell, Tchouaméni wanting to leave after this season and Real Madrid asking him to wait for one more year could give Liverpool a boost in the race to sign the Ligue 1 star in the summer.
