Joselu won’t play for Deportivo La Coruna again this season. The Stoke City owned player has a small tear in his Achilles tendon and is out for the remainder of the campaign.
AS say that means Joselu will be saying ‘adios’ to La Liga, because Deportivo la Coruna aren’t going to buy the player permanently from Stoke City.
The 27 year old striker joined Depor on loan for the season, but in September suffered a knee ligament injury which kept him out until December. It wasn’t the best start, and the Stoke player needed to win over fans considering his history at Depor’s Galicia rivals Celta Vigo.
It’s not been a disaster of a loan move, but five goals in 20 performances won’t be enough to convince Deportivo La Coruna to raid the piggy bank and scrape together enough money to please Stoke City.
Mark Hughes and the club will now have to decide what to do with Joselu next season, with the player having 2 more seasons on his Stoke City contract.
