Sporting are finally looking to let go over Rui Patricio and William Carvalho, report Jornal de Noticias.
The two players have been much linked with exits from Sporting but this summer may finally be the time, after president Bruno de Carvalho fell out with several of his most senior players and accused them of wanting a transfer.
Recent comments from the controversial Sporting chief about players angling for transfers appeared to be directed at Carvalho and that’s how it was taken by most of the Portuguese media.
Everton is presented as a possible destination for the midfielder, with it being claimed the Premier League club are interested.
Sam Allardyce’s side haven’t been one of those most linked with the player, but outside of the Champions League teams, Everton are one of the few in England who could afford the €40m asking price.
Carvalho and his teammate are ‘on the verge’ of leaving Sporting, according to the claims, and that presents a good opportunity should Everton interest be genuine.
