Don Balon, Spain’s most excitable rumour outlet, have got it into their heads that Isco leaving Real Madrid this summer is a real thing.
It’s possible that’s true, the Spaniard hasn’t had the season many expected of him and there are doubts if he can make the move from being a very good footballer to one Madrid can count on to lead their future.
Manchester City have now been dragged in and it’s claimed Pep Guardiola is willing to sanction a move for the player up to the value of €70m.
That’s a problem for Florentino Perez on two fronts. One is that Manchester City don’t have anyone Madrid are really keen to buy this summer, whereas if Isco went to PSG or Juventus it could be helpful to try and get Neymar or Paulo Dybala.
Secondly, Madrid want €120m, and that’s obviously a lot higher than the €70m Guardiola feels Isco is worth.
This ‘offer’ is said to have turned Real Madrid ‘upside down’.
Don Balon need to keep up with their own information, because just three days ago they reported Manchester City are no longer interested in Isco, and it’s Marco Asensio catching their attention instead.
