Östersund manager Graham Potter has told the Swedish media that being linked with a move to the Premier League was just speculation.
In recent weeks the former Stoke City player has been linked with West Bromwich Albion and Southampton.
Speaking to Osdsport after extending his contract with OFK, Potter was asked about interest from English clubs: “I’ve never been away from here. There has never been any truth in what has been written, but there will always be speculation in football.”
Potter was most recently linked with the Southampton job after Mauricio Pellegrino was sacked by the Premier League side.
Due to his work with OFK, and in particular the Europa League this season, Potter was seen as a candidate to replace Pellegrino, but the Saints instead appointed Mark Hughes.
The Englishman has also been linked with the West Brom job with Alan Pardew falling to turn things round at the Hawthorns.
Despite signing a four year deal with OFK it’ll be interesting go see if West Brom come for Potter if they are relegated to the Championship, which is looking very likely after the defeat to Bournemouth last weekend.
