Right when leaving Wembley after Tottenham Hotspur’s 6-1 win over Rochdale, Lucas Moura spoke to ESPN Brasil.

A few of his quotes were included in their post-match story, which we’ve covered yesterday, as the player talked about feeling welcome in London, complained about the VAR and commented on playing on such cold weather.

But ESPN still made another story about Moura today, with a few extra quotes from that interview. Now he’s talked about the process of leaving Paris and how the Premier League was an objective in his mind.

“My first choice was undoubtedly English football. There were a few options, some clubs from other leagues, but I was focused on coming here. Firstly because it is, in my opinion, the most competitive football, the most competitive league. And also because I believe in my characteristics. I am a player of speed, to carry the ball, to go forward to the goal. So I think it’s good.”

“Firstly, when there was Tottenham’s interest, I already got very excited. For being a great team, for playing the Champions League, for having great players. Once I met the structure of the club, I was impressed. Actually, I’ve never seen a structure like the one we have here, in training, the organization was also very cool, that motivated me a lot.”

Another player who spoke to the channel was Fernando Llorente, and had a say about the Brazilian’s arrival to the club.

“He’s adapted very well here. The truth is that we are a fantastic group and it makes things easier to adapt quickly. And I think he’s already playing at a great level.”

Signed from PSG on the last day of the transfer window on a £25m deal, Moura has four appearances so far, having scored one goal and made two assists. He’s still to start a Premier League game, though.
