There’s an assumption at Barcelona that Raul Sanllehi is on his way to Arsenal when his Barcelona contract runs out.
Mundo Deportivo state that despite links to Manchester City and organisations including FIFA, UEFA and the ECA, Sanllehi is now expected to take up a role at Arsenal.
Having worked in a director of football type role at Barcelona, Sanllehi has, according to the Catalan newspaper, not been short of offers, but will give his ‘yes’ to Arsenal in 15 days… when his Barca deal ends.
Towards the end of October, Sport, another Catalan newspaper, reported that Sanllehi would be taking up a director of operations job at Arsenal, something that would make him ‘the right hand man of Ivan Gazidis’.
At the time Sport reported the move as pretty much a done deal, and that would fit in with the Friday claims from Mundo Deportivo.
Sanllehi has had a mixed response to his work at Barcelona, his tenure not being considered a runaway success. At least he’d be used to criticism, which comes with the job at Arsenal.
