Hamburg manager Markus Gisdol has told the German media he’s not been in contact with Pierre-Michel Lasogga, but is delighted what he’s done with Leeds United.

Lasogga is currently on loan with Leeds United, and has impressed since his arrival at Elland Road.

Hamburger Morgenpost have reported on comments made by Gisdol when he was asked about the Leeds United loanee: “In day-to-day business, contact is lost a bit when a player is gone. But I am delighted that he is doing his part in making Leeds a promotion candidate. That’s very nice for him.”

Lasogga joined Leeds United on loan from Hamburg in the summer, and he hit the ground running.

Since his arrival in England the 25 year old has scored five goals in the league in ten starts. His goals helped Leeds United top the table earlier in the season, but they’ve faltered in recent weeks.

The former Germany U21 international has also become a favourite with the Elland Road faithful despite only being at the club for just a few months, but there have been no reports if his move will be made permanent next summer.
