Andile Jali is still playing for KV Oostende in Belgium, despite transfer rumours not often being too far away from the South Africa international.
Over the weekend, Belgian newspaper Het Nieuwsblad put together a feature on the midfielder, an A-Z of his football career.
When L got its turn, Leeds United was chosen, and Jali was asked if it’s true he wanted to move to the Yorkshire club. No timeframe is given by Het Nieuwsblad, but Leeds United were linked mainly during the summer 2016 transfer window, with a further look then to the following winter window.
“I spoke to them, but didn’t get an English work permit.”
If that situation could change in the future then Jali would snap up the opportunity to move to Elland Road, with money being a driving point in a potential transfer.
Championship clubs, especially those as big as Leeds United, comfortably pay more than many leagues around Europe and on balance that certainly includes Belgium.
