On Monday, Afriyie Acquah to Birmingham City really took off in the Italian media.
With Torino looking to sign Godfred Donsah from Bologna, and that being largely dependent on Acquah leaving the club, there was a reason for rush on the Italian side of a potential deal.
Despite Torino having an asking price of €10m for Acquah, it was reported in Italy on Monday that Birmingham had offered €8-9m and that was felt to be a reasonable proposition for the midfielder.
Those reports then made their way to England and the price was converted to around £7.5m.
Birmingham were said to want an answer before the end of the day, but apparently that didn’t come.
Toro News, part of the Gazzetta dello Sport network, say Monday came and went without the reply Birmingham were hoping for, but it’s stated the Championship club still remain confident of a deal for Acquah.
With Donsah also pushing on the other side, there’s time pressures everywhere on this, which hopefully means a quick conclusion.
