Valencia regional newspaper Super Deporte report that Peter Lim, Valencia’s owner, is flying from France to England on transfer business.
Lim was at PSG’s match on Sunday as rumours rose of Goncalo Guedes moving to Valencia on loan for the season. Guedes was purchased from Benfica during the January transfer window and it always seemed a deal more beneficial to the Portuguese side than PSG.
Lim’s reason from flying to England is a potential loan for Andreas Pereira, according to the Super Deporte claims. Valencia’s owner wants to close a deal in England, and Manchester United’s Pereira is the only player named.
Pereira had a good loan spell last season with Granada, and that’s left an impression in Spain. Valencia rumours started at the weekend, and Sport Witness has been able to confirm there’s truth in the interest.
Sources have also informed Sport Witness that Jose Mourinho is reluctant to lose the player, despite Pereira not being involved in the club’s great start to the season.
Right now, Manchester United are fortunate to not be struggling with injuries, but Mourinho knows a time will come when Pereira could be needed. Unless someone else is brought in, or Mourinho sees a way his squad is strong enough without the 21 year old, Valencia will be left disappointed.
Peter Lim has several business interests in England, including a big investment in Hotel Football, opposite Old Trafford.
