Turkish sides Besiktas and Trabzonspor have joined the race to sign Leicester City defender Yohan Benalouane, claim L’Equipe.
Last week the Frenchman was linked with a move to Turkey’s Osmanlispor.
L’Equipe have today reported Besiktas and Trabzonspor will provide competition to Osmanlispor to sign the Leicester City player. Benalouane’s future with the Premier League side looks uncertain with the arrivals at the club this summer.
Last week we covered reports from France that Osmanlispor had offered Benalouane a three year contract, but there were no details of the transfer fee they are willing to table with Leicester City.
It gives the English side an opportunity to get the player off their wage bill, and more interest means chance of a reasonable fee.
Craig Shakespeare brought in Hull City defender Harry Maguire this summer, and the player has started Leicester City’s opening two games, scoring in Saturday’s victory over Brighton. With Robert Huth still to return from injury, Benalouane’s chances of getting games this season look to be slim.
The 30 year old has struggled to make an impact since his arrival from Atalanta in 2015, playing just a handful of games for the Foxes.
