Chilean newspaper El Mercurio brings a short update on Alexis Sanchez’ situation today, as the player is returning to Arsenal after the extended vacations he had post Confederations Cup.

It’s claimed the star hoped he could take an extra couple of days off, but manager Arsene Wenger requires him to be in London this Sunday.

The outlet says the messages between player and his Arsenal manager have been more frequent ‘both in public and in private’, and the Chilean international’s focus is really to seek a move out of the club this summer, with Manchester City being his preferred destination.

After taking the claims from the European press which said Neymar would like Arsenal’s Sanchez to be his teammate at Paris Saint Germain, El Mercurio claims the offers from the French side and Manchester City are economically similar.

But Sanchez’s desire to play for a ‘millionaire’ club, with Pep Guardiola in charge, would favour the Manchester side to land him in the end.
