According to claims in the Italian media Felipe Avenatti is on the verge of joining Serie A side Bologna. The 24 year old has repeatedly been linked with a move to Leeds United over the past 18 months.
Zero Cinquantuno have reported Avenatti will sign for Bologna on a free transfer after his contract recently expired with Ternana. The Uruguayan has already had his medical ahead of signing a four year contract with the Italian club, and his move is expected to be made official in the coming days
Leeds United made an approach for Avenatti last summer, and not for the first time they failed in their attempt to sign him. The Championship side continued to be linked with the player throughout last season, but with the changes at Leeds United it was perhaps unlikely they would look to sign the South American this summer.
The new owners and coaching staff have identified other targets for Leeds United in this transfer window, and have already brought in reinforcements to the club.
