Manchester United and Manchester City are among the prominent suitors for River Plate’s Franco Mastantuono.

Liverpool have been linked with the 17-year-old in the past but the talent has caught the attention of the two Manchester clubs as well.

This comes from InterLive today, who state that both Manchester United and Manchester City have ‘thought about’ signing Mastantuono and they are still interested.

A move to Real Madrid has previously fallen through after the youngster signing a new contract annoyed Los Blancos, who subsequently dumped the idea of signing him.

Inter Milan are now keen on the move and will provide competition to both Manchester United and Manchester City. They are set to make an offer through intermediaries, with River’s release clause for Mastantuono standing at €40m.

Inter’s intention is to beat the other clubs in the chase and while they can’t meet the release clause in the player’s contract, they will be willing to offer around €15m.

At just 17, Mastantuono has played 41 times for River Plate’s first team, scoring three times and assisting three times as well. It remains to be seen if the Argentine side accept any discounts on offers that arrive for their talent.
