Dutch side FC Volendam ‘hears the cash register ringing’ as Micky van de Ven is linked with a move from Tottenham to Real Madrid.
That’s according to Groot Waterland, who report that the Dutch side could be set to benefit again if Van de Ven were to leave Tottenham.
A report in Spain today stated that Van de Ven could be in Real Madrid’s sights as they look to sign defenders this summer to solve what has been a problem position in the squad this season.
They would potentially be eyeing a deal worth €120m and if the Spanish giants were to spend such a sum, Volendam would be set to benefit.
The Dutch side don’t have a resale percentage but would instead be set to benefit through FIFA’s solidarity contribution.
If Real Madrid were to put €120m on the table, they would receive an extra €3.9m for the defender after already receiving €1.3m as compensation when he originally moved to Tottenham from Wolfsburg.
The German club would also be set to benefit as well if Real Madrid do make their move after he spent two years with them before he turned 23.
Volendam would be the major beneficiaries of the deal, though, and can hear the cash register ringing already.
