Brentford were scouting Genoa midfielder Morten Frendrup in Sunday’s clash with Cagliari in Serie A.
That’s according to Tutto Juve, who say Brentford ‘observed’ the 23-year-old live as his list of suitors continues to grow.
They report that Brentford has been on the trail of the Genoa midfielder for over a year, with him also being closely followed by Juventus in case they sell Nicolò Fagioli.
Those who are watching him have drawn ‘very interesting indications’ about the 23-year-old but Genoa are setting a valuation of around €20m.
That would be difficult for the Italian sides to reach, unless the price can be brought down by the possible inclusion of players. Thus, Brentford could have an advantage at this moment in time.
AC Milan have also watched the midfielder several times because they want an alternative to Youssouf Fofana.
Frendrup is preferred because he can play in any role in midfield, something that all of his suitors admire. Brentford are certainly keen and have been inquiring about him.
It’s not clear if those enquiries are anything other than asking a question at this moment in time but he may be a name to keep an eye on ahead of the January transfer window.
